Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician to join our growing team in Oakland, California. The Laboratory Technician will report to the Director of Animal Care. The Laboratory Technician must be comfortable handling animal feces (mostly from cats and dogs but also other animals including mice, rabbits, ferrets, and horses) in a laboratory setting. We take all appropriate safety and biohazard precautions, but applicants should understand that handling stool on a daily basis will be required. Ability to maintain a high degree of cleanliness and organization are crucial.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Contributing to the running of a stool bank of material from healthy cats and dogs
  • Processing donations
  • Preparing material for diagnostic testing for parasites and pathogens
  • Preparing material for delivery in veterinary clinics as well as in capsules
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Performing inventories

Director of Veterinary Relations

The Director of Veterinary Relations (DVR) reports to the ABV Sales and Marketing Lead and is responsible for the education and training of ABV customers. In addition, the DVR is the face of ABV to the veterinary community and helps build customer relationships and promote and sell ABV products.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Builds new veterinary relationships by attending and presenting talks at conferences and industry events
  • Helps promote and sell ABV products via email, social media, digital advertising, podcasts, and webinars
  • Builds and updates best in class sales, on-boarding, and training programs
  • Leads the “Lunch and Learn” process and works with the ABV Sales Associate to schedule and plan these events
  • Works with Sales Manager and On-Boarding Sales Associate to train and onboard new customers
  • Helps answer veterinarian/vet tech questions about Gut Microbiome Health Test and Oral Microbiome Health Test results
  • Maintains and updates treatment codes
  • Liaison with Animal Care Team (Customer Service)
  • Liaison with Science Team and the AnimalBiome Chief Science Officer
  • Collaborates on content creation and review for veterinary topics
  • Engages Chief Veterinary Officer as appropriate on difficult treatment cases
  • Assists Chief Veterinary Officer in creating conference presentations as needed

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited school of veterinary medicine
  • 3+ years experience in a veterinary practice
  • Excellent oral and written communications

Manager of Performance and Affiliate Marketing

The Manager of Performance and Affiliate Marketing reports to the Chief Marketing & Sales Officer and is responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing Facebook and Google advertising. The Manager of Performance and Affiliate Marketing manages the programmatic advertising agency and the company affiliate marketing program.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develops and executes Facebook and Google ad campaigns to help deliver Consumer and Veterinary brand plans
  • Works with Consumer Brand and Veterinary Designers to create new campaigns and refresh existing ones
  • Selects or creates appropriate audience for campaign objective (awareness, purchase, repeat)
  • Analyzes performance of ad campaigns and adjusts as needed
  • Works with Facebook and Google marketing experts to optimize campaigns and ensure that consumer and veterinary brands leverage best practices and any emerging marketing technologies
  • Manages Google Merchant account and ensures that organic and paid shopping is optimized for consumer brands
  • Ensures that consumer brands and veterinary brand acquisition funnel is full at all times (awareness, purchase, repeat)
  • Works with programmatic advertising agency to develop ad campaigns that help deliver Consumer and Veterinary brand plans
  • Manages the company affiliate marketing program (transition from Glen)
  • Works with affiliate marketing agency to analyze and optimize affiliate marketing program

 

Required Skills:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree
  • Three to five years of Facebook and Google ads experience
  • Experience managing a programmatic digital ad agency
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong understanding of Excel and Google Analytics
  • Excellent listening, verbal communication, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed cross-functional team environment
